Focus | Business Law, Contracts, Intellectual Property, and Strategic Disputes

Joseph A. Campo is the founder and managing attorney of Campo Law. His practice is shaped by the view that legal counsel should do more than identify technical issues in isolation. He advises with close attention to leverage, timing, risk, business consequences, and the way legal decisions perform under pressure.

Joseph’s practice includes structuring companies and ownership arrangements, advising on governance and restructuring questions, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating investment and transaction documents, including fund- and SPV-related agreements, drafting and revising contracts that govern business operations, preparing employment agreements, waivers, and internal policies, handling brand and intellectual property strategy, and stepping into disputes or sensitive business situations where legal judgment must be both commercially grounded and immediately useful. He also advises on specialized matters involving publishing, entertainment, art, and creative assets.

Before founding Campo Law, Joseph represented major companies in commercial litigation, negligence matters, and contract disputes while also leading his prior firm’s intellectual property department. That combination of dispute-side, contract, and intellectual property experience continues to shape his work today, particularly in matters where ownership, control, contractual architecture, reputational concerns, and long-term business value are at stake.

Joseph received the CALI Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property Litigation in 2022 and holds a Juris Doctorate from New England Law | Boston, where he received a full scholarship and distinction as a Sandra Day O'Connor Honors Program scholar. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bentley University, where he majored in Creative Industries and minored in Legal Studies and Business.

Joseph is admitted to practice in California, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and Rhode Island, and is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Northern District of California and the District of Massachusetts.
